A little about me . . .
Hi! My name is Mrs. Osborn and I am excited for a new school adventure. For the past five years, I have taught 5th/6th grade math and science. Prior to that, I taught 6th grade, 3rd grade, Kindergarten, and Preschool. I am ready to step into the 2nd grade classroom to experience a wonderful learning journey with a wonderful group of children.
Specials and Recess Schedule
7:35 a.m. Students enter school and go to the classroom. Reading and math skills
8:10 a.m. Breakfast: Students not eating will work on math facts and sight words.
8:25 a.m. Reading
10:00 a.m. Writing
10:50 a.m. Recess
11:10 a.m. Lunch
11:45 a.m. ART
12:15 p.m. PE
3:40 p.m. Recess
3:55 p.m. Dismissal
Students will be dismissed from the sidewalk in front of the school.

Weekend Parent Writing
Student/Parent Communication
Every Thursday, students write a letter to their parents/family. They write about the activities that the class did during the week, new facts or skills that they have learned, their goals, and/or their proud moments. Parents or a family member needs to write a letter back to the student in the journal. Students read these letters to themselves on Monday. For every student/family interaction, a sticker is placed on the notebook.
This letter exchange gives the students the opportunity to reflect on and share their learning and it also gives families the opportunity to encourage and compliment their children on their learning.
Homework Folder
Reading and Math
Every evening, students need to pull out their ORANGE homework folder from their backpack and go through the papers. On the RIGHT side is finished work that the student can keep at home. On the LEFT side is work that needs to be completed and returned the next day. Instructions for weekly homework will be found on the front of the folder.
Read and Respond: 10 minutes
Spelling Homework: 5 minutes
Study Skills: 5 minutes
