HELP WANTED

Vocational Agriculture/FFA Teacher

  • Prepare and evaluate teaching schedule, curriculum, and teaching calendar
  • Conduct field trips, both in and out of district
  • Secure materials for classroom instruction and student projects (e.g. welding metal, wood, etc.)
  • Prepare teaching plans, demonstration plans, and teaching materials for all classes
  • Supervised Agricultural Experience Program (SAE)
  • Visit students’ SAE projects throughout the year based on the students’ SAE.   
  • Assist students in keeping SAE records
  • Assist students in SAE projects such as exhibiting livestock, crops and agricultural mechanics projects at fairs and shows

 FFA

  •  Serve as advisor for the FFA chapter
  • Assist students in coordinating FFA activities at the local, area, district, state and national levels
  • Prepare and train FFA and agriculture contest teams and entries
  • Assist students in preparing applications for proficiency awards, state and American Degrees,
  • Assist students in conducting a public relations program for the local FFA chapter and agriculture department.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Administration.

 

Cheyenne Wells is on a 4 day school week (Fridays off) and offers paid single health, dental, vision and life insurance, personal leave (10 days per year), small class sized and a collaborative atmosphere. Salary starts at $36,500. and varies depending on experience. Salary schedule is available for viewing at www.cheyennesd.net

Paraprofessional/Permanent Substitute Job Description
Duties
Paraprofessional: The person will serve as a paraprofessional to support instruction for general
education and or special education students in K-12. This could include whole group support for
the teacher during lessons, small group instruction, or one-on-one instruction.
Permanent Substitute: When the district is in need of a substitute for a teacher and all of the
substitute teachers in the sub pool are used or not available, this person will then be assigned to
substitute teach for that need.
Qualifications
Must hold or be willing to apply for a Colorado Substitute License
